There are those who use the camera to record a scene without taking advantage of the medium of photography. No use of light, space and time. Like a stenographer making a written record. Since all the artistry and authorship is in the scene being recorded, and not in the use of the medium of photography, are they really photographers? Seems like this is a textile artist, not a photographer.

I’m in photography school and spending lots of time in the studio this winter so these are particularly inspiring- so much work must have gone into these to get the final composition.

Matthew, after studying her process, I would definitely call her a conceptual photographer.
