Yes, those glossy album covers he did for CTI jazz records were stunning. I didn’t just tear off the cellophane wrapper, take out the record and place it on the turntable - I took a moment to take in the beautiful photograph, which was part of the experience.

While we’re on the subject, the album covers for EMI records have been been and continue to be graced by compelling photographic images.

What an amazing combination of vision, color sense, and creativity. I first became aware of pete turner in the sixties and seventies with his album covers. I think his work is made even more remarkable when you realize that it was all shot on film, and realized long before this age of digital manipulation was invented. Thanks for including this and bringing him to our attention!
