I really love seeing an artist's commercial work mixed in with their grand vision/personal work. Most likely b/c I work in the commercial world as well...

Thanks for reminding us of this giant presence in the world of photography. Sudek did such classic photography at its very best, with his mastery of subject matter, composition, light and mood - I never tire re-examining these photographs and learning something different every time. There are numerous publications, but two stand out for me, both long out of print. The first is the Linhart book published in Prague in 1956. It is not a large size book, but contains over two hundred pages of photographs printed in velvety sepia-toned sheet-fed gravure. The second is the Anna Farova monograph published by Kehayoff, containing an extensive illustrated biography and a fine selection of his life's work. Both are available from antiquarian sellers on Abebooks.com.
