Penn had a show at MoMA in the early 80's and I walked out (I am old now) and became a dedicated photographer. I loved everything he did and especially his bleached and toned prints of cigarettes...to this day not even sure what it was about them. He was a master. And his fashion images still take my breath away.

Mr Penn was a true master in practice. There were no shortcuts when he created a photograph.
Wildly inventive and thought provoking. One of the best portrait photographers of the 20th century.
