Wendi Schneider
PHOTOSNACK #892
I keep returning to Wendi Schneider’s work because it asks for a slower kind of looking. Her hand-gilded photographs of flowers, birds, branches, and mist feel incredibly quiet, almost suspended between photography and memory — delicate objects where light, surface, and silence matter as much as the subject itself.
Thank you, Nadine Levin, for recommending her work.
Until next time,
Tomasz

I like this work. It's a fine combination of paint skill and photography that blends into a coherent synthetic whole that is aesthetically pleasing.
Fascinating work - photography extended. Her use of precious metals to gild and wash the images literally brings another level of light into these amazing works of art. Equally fascinating is the influence of turn of the 20th century photography on her work. This work is truly rooted to the physical world in every aspect from initial vision to final artifact. Just fascinating!
