Here is my Sunday thought.
The promenade in Garda was alive with its usual summer rhythm — gelato shops, lake views, tourists strolling in the heat. But I turned into a narrow side street, away from all that polish, and found this yard. A truck, a red car, a yellow house pressed between walls of green. Nothing spectacular, yet it felt more real than the postcard view one street away.
This is what fascinates me: how places reveal their truth not on the main stage but in the wings. The promenade is designed to be seen. But the side streets, the backyards, the half-open gates — they whisper the stories of how people actually live.
Photography often lives in that step sideways. Noticing what isn’t advertised. Trusting curiosity enough to wander away from the obvious and into the ordinary. That’s where a different kind of beauty waits.
What about you? Do you find yourself photographing the landmarks, the grand views — or do you drift toward the overlooked corners? Where do your best discoveries happen?
Let me know. I’d love to know.
Until next time,
Tomasz
I photograph both but I think l have more 'keepers' from the off the beaten tracks views 🤔
