Something a little different today

Today’s PHOTOSNACK is a little different.

Instead of pointing you toward someone else’s photographs, I wanted to step out from behind PHOTOSNACK for a moment and share something more personal.

Photography has always been a kind of visual diary for me — a way of noticing, remembering, and paying attention to ordinary life.

That idea is behind a new daily project I’ve started on YouTube: Seven Reasons I Stopped.

Every day, I photograph whatever life puts in front of me, then choose seven images from that day to share in a very short video. Sometimes they may come from somewhere extraordinary. Sometimes all seven might be made within a few minutes around my office.

What interests me is not the place, but the act of looking.

In many ways, that is also why PHOTOSNACK exists.

So today I want to introduce you to the photographer behind it — and invite you to follow this new visual diary if it speaks to you.
