There is enormous intimacy in Siân Davey's photographs, but they never feel intrusive to me. She photographs family, friends, and people around her with a wonderful sensitivity to bodies, gestures, and relationships—the small things that tell us how people actually feel about one another.
Her pictures seem both tender and complicated at the same time.
