Tintypes appear backwards because they are created as a direct positive image, meaning no negative is used in the process, resulting in a mirror-image reversal of the subject, similar to how you see yourself reversed when looking in a mirror; this is due to the way light hits the photographic plate during exposure. Pretty rad really ♥️
It has the look anf feel of early 20th century / late 19th century photos. Marvellous to see something that harks back to the past while the subject remains contemporary.
