Robert Mapplethorpe
PHOTOSNACK #904
There is something very clear and powerful in Robert Mapplethorpe’s photography: whether he photographed flowers, portraits, or the human body, he made everything look carefully shaped, balanced, and intense.
His images are often beautiful, but they can also feel challenging, because they look directly at things many people prefer not to look at.
Thank you, Marta Duńska, for reminding us of his work.
Until next time,
Tomasz

I’m a big fan of his work with flowers and, of course, the images of Patti. Such a shame we lost him so young.
A master of form and shape, but lacks excitement.
