Rennie Ellis
PHOTOSNACK #902
Looking at the photographs of Rennie Ellis (1940-2003), I feel drawn into a world where everyday Australian life becomes theatre: playful, raw, excessive, tender, and completely unashamed of itself.
What makes his work so alive is that it never observes people from a safe distance; it steps into the crowd, feels the heat of the room, and allows human behavior to reveal itself in all its strange and beautiful contradictions.
Thank you, Peter Hammer, for recommending his work.
Until next time,
Tomasz
