As a Lebanese-born American/Palestinian woman and mother, Rania Matar’s cultural background, cross-cultural experience, and personal narrative inform her photography. She has dedicated her work to exploring issues of personal and collective identity through photographs of female adolescense and womanhood.
Some excellent work surrounding different social issues and challenges.
Thank you, Lydia Rogers, for recommending her.
Until next time,
Tomasz
Mee too....getting into her article was a scuffle
The staging for that shot was a beautiful balance. Old - a cathode ray TV, New-ish - the clogs, and Beauty - yes, yes, of course the model. One effect for me was seeing a lived in space. Just enough clutter to be real.
