Working with analogue cameras, darkroom printing, and old photographic papers, Martin Waldbauer creates black-and-white images in which rural life is shown not as nostalgia, but as something dignified, physical, and deeply human.

This image is beyond brilliant
B&W’s bring back wonderful memories of my youth spending time in the dark room at home processing and printing as a hobby. Always very effective. The underexposed were the dreary ones but I didn’t mind some of the overexposed ones! Great article and photo collection.
