Koos Breukel
PHOTOSNACK #763
Koos Breukel’s portraits are the kind you want to sit with for a while—they’re quiet, honest, and feel very close without ever being intrusive. There’s a calm confidence in the way he photographs people, like he’s genuinely interested in who they are rather than trying to impress with style.
Thank you, Remi Pankras, for recommending his work.
Until next time,
Tomasz

For me personally, portraits of unknown persons are not 'the kind you want to sit with for a while'. A portrait is something personal, associated with close or well-known people. Do you know that ancient Greeks made portraits of their close family members only after they died? These portraits were called 'icons'. Some times we run too far in our civilization.
