Juno Calypso creates carefully staged self-portraits in artificial, often intensely pink environments, exploring loneliness, beauty and the expectations placed on women. These photographs are funny, strange and sometimes a little disturbing.
I love how she uses color, lighting and humor to make pictures that are immediately memorable but not always easy to explain.
