James Ray Francis was a member of the Kamoinge Workshop, a group of photographers whose intent was to cultivate a supportive yet critical artistic community that captures black life in all of the photographers' vast experiences of it.
He created some outstanding images. You can see his work on the Bruce Silverstein Gallery website, which recently hosted the first-ever exhibition of his works.
Thank you, Stephen Smith, for recommending him.
Until next time,
Tomasz
