Gerda Taro
PHOTOSNACK #160
Gerda Taro (her real name was Gerta Pohorylle) was the first woman photojournalist who died in the field while covering a conflict.
She is most famous for documenting the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).
Thank you, Manuel Abella, for recommending her work.
Until next time,
Tomasz

I don't think that Capa ever got over her death. His notorious risk taking and life style may well have been, at least in part, a reaction to it.
