cool. while I am generally not interested in cars, these photos really are beautifully. when faced with such pictures of classics, even I can work up some enthusiasm for cars 😉
Dave is one of the good ones and we are fortunate to still have him around and sharing his first-hand historical knowledge. In addition to his automotive work with Shelby International, and others, his Film Set work is some of the best to come out of Hollywood.
Great shots for an old gear head like myself. I've seen his work for years in many publications. I love to shoot cars and have marveled at the way his shots always brought the car out regardless of the background.
I've seen his work for nearly my entire life in the automotive publications. He was literally everywhere at the dawn of the post WWII automotive / racing world. Wonderful eye. A LIFE magazine level photographer, IMHO. He had a wonderful economy of work. A friend told me he traveled very light and could shoot a car for a magazine article using just one roll of 120. And a step ladder for a different perspective if one was available.
